Creating your account - Outlook Express 4.5

Note that IMAP email is only available to customers who originally used the Totalise (www.totalise.co.uk) service.

Open Outlook Express, click on the Edit menu, then on Preferences.

OE 4.5 IMAP Settings 1

Make sure the window is on the Email section and click New Account.

OE 4.5 IMAP Settings 2

Enter Madasafish Mail for the Account name, change the Account type to IMAP and click OK.

OE 4.5 IMAP Settings 3

Make sure that your name is in the Name section, and that your e-mail address is in the E-mail address section (making sure it is in lower case ie. no capital letters). If these are not filled in, an error will occur when you try to send your e-mail.

Make sure that the IMAP and SMTP server addresses are as shown:

IMAP: imap.totalise.com
SMTP: mail.totalise.com

Also make sure that Account ID contains your username (the first part of your e-mail address) and that Password contains the password you use to connect to Madasafish (this is case sensitive, and the username must be in lowercase).

OE 4.5 IMAP Settings 4

Click OK to finish.

The main Outlook Express screen will show the new IMAP account in the folders list.
